Cookie policy

This cookie policy was last updated on 6 October 2026 and applies to visitors in South Africa.

1. What this covers

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This page lists the ones thegwengroup.co.za uses, and what you can choose. What we do with personal information more widely is in our privacy notice.

2. Always on

  • gwen_session: set when a member signs in with the link we email her. It keeps her signed in to her member area for up to 30 days, and goes when she logs out.
  • gwen-consent (stored in your browser, not a cookie): remembers your answer to the cookie banner, so we do not ask on every page.

These are needed for the site to work, so they do not ask for consent.

3. Only if you say yes

When you first visit, a banner asks whether we may use analytics and advertising cookies. Nothing below loads unless you choose “That’s fine”.

  • Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*), through Google Tag Manager: measures how the website is used, in aggregate.
  • Meta pixel (_fbp): measures how our Facebook and Instagram ads perform.

Google and Meta are located in the United States and process this information under their own privacy terms.

4. Other sites

Membership payments happen on PayFast’s page and event tickets on Quicket’s; they set their own cookies under their own policies. Videos embedded from YouTube or Instagram may set cookies when you play them.

5. Changing your mind

To change your answer, clear this site’s data in your browser settings and the banner will ask again on your next visit. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser; the member area needs the session cookie to sign you in.
