GwenGo · A networking group for women in businessYou’ve got a thousand contacts.
How many could refer you?

The problem

Most networking stops at “So, what do you do?”

You meet, explain what you do, swap details and never follow up. Whoops.

Relationships form when you see someone again. You learn how she works, what matters to her and who she is behind the business.

GwenGo gives you that second conversation, and the twentieth.

What our members say

What happens when women show up and use the network.

“Love these weekly Quick Fire calls. Connecting with women founders and just being able to be REAL. Everyone is so supportive and ready to help (even though they have their own things going on). Love that I can pop in and get support when I need it!”

Ilonka RasOn the Members’ Hub

“I love the Quick Fire call with the Gwen ladies! It’s always so fun and I’ve seen how real, genuine connections always lead to clients for me. It’s not salesy and awkward. I genuinely look forward to going and having a laugh and building my network at the same time!”

Lauren SmitOn the Members’ Hub

“I personally found the visibility challenge really beneficial. It held me accountable and made me so much more intentional with my posts. I definitely saw an increase in views on my page, and I got to know more about some of the other members in the process.”

On the Members’ Hub

“The GWEN Quick Fire 30 is only 30 minutes a week to meet inspiring women. It gave me a simple task list for the coming week, and it is a good place to practise your elevator pitch and share your brand’s story.”

Hélène BothaA Life Revolution

“I’ve not only gained new clients and business opportunities, but also made some wonderful friends.”

Carol HampshireBrand Strategist

“I’ve learned a lot, met women with so much to share, and the networking opportunities have been brilliant.”

Members’ Days Out

The same women, on a day off.

A couple of times a year, GwenGo members get out from behind their laptops and spend a day together. Some of the best connections happen when you’re simply having a good time.

Behind GWEN

I built the network I could see women needed.

I’ve spent the last few years putting women in rooms together, and I’ve experienced first-hand what happens afterwards.

One conversation turns into coffee. Coffee turns into an introduction. An introduction might turn into a collaboration, a referral, a client or simply someone really useful to have in your corner.

That’s the bit that fuels me. It’s what keeps me focused on what GWEN is here to do.

Building business relationships is my jam.

Questions

Before you join

Are clients or referrals guaranteed?

No. You’ll have every opportunity to be seen and get known. The relationships are yours to build.

How do referrals happen?

Someone refers you when she knows you, understands your business and trusts you with her contacts. That takes more than one meeting. GwenGo keeps you in front of the same women week after week, so your name is familiar when the right opportunity comes up.

I’m not a natural networker. Will this suit me?

You don’t need to be. GWEN runs on conversation, and you already know how to have one. Share what you’re working on, ask for what you need, and listen to what other women are building.

How much time does it take?

Start with 30 minutes a week: the Tuesday Quick Fire call. Workshops, events and the Members’ Hub are yours to pick from. How much you do is up to you, though the members who get the most from GWEN are the ones who show up regularly.

When are the calls?

Quick Fire 30 is every Tuesday, 09:00 to 09:30, online. Founder Insights and the Know-How Hour each happen once a month, with dates shared in the Members’ Hub.

What kind of businesses join?

All kinds, service and product. Accountants, attorneys and designers are already in the room, alongside a spa, a café, a wine farm and a plant stylist.

Do I need to be based in the Garden Route?

No. GWEN connects women founders between Cape Town and the Garden Route, and women from anywhere in South Africa are welcome. The online side works from wherever you are. Most in-person events currently take place in the Garden Route.

What happens after I join?

You pay by card on a secure payment page. Your welcome email and profile instructions arrive the same day. Submit your GWEN business profile and it’s reviewed and published within 24 hours. Then join your first Tuesday call.

Can I cancel my monthly membership?

Yes. Give one month’s written notice to lorenza@thegwengroup.co.za.
